Captain Daren

She traced a finger along his chest. Using her fingernail, she scratched a light red mark down the center of his chest to his abdomen, and then back again encircling one nipple on his tight pectoral. She moved in closer to him and began to lick… * * * * * * “The time is 0900 hours…”, the Computer’s voice was noticeably louder then usual and it was followed by a series of very annoying beeps. The message repeated until Captain Daren was ripped from his slumber. “Computer, I’m awake.” He scratched the back of his head and moved out of the bed. It was still dark in the bedroom. “Lights.” The room illuminated gently and Daren walked to the replicator, “Coffee, Columbian Roast, hot, black.” He took the steaming mug that appeared and moved to the desk in the main room to have a look at any repair reports that had been posted during the overnight shift. The Engineering crew had been doing a magnificent job on the repairs and Daren was more than happy with their efforts to bring the ship back to life. Nobody wanted to get underway more than he did. As he read he found his thoughts bringing him back to the dream world he had just come from. The mysterious woman next to him, intimate with him, what could she symbolize? Most of her appearance was hidden from him; he could only feel her closeness on him. He shook the moment off, returned to the reports with a sip of the caffeinated brew, hoping to focus. But the dream was too powerful to resist right now. She was too powerful to ignore… * * * * * * * “Captain?” Command Yeoman Miranda Forester jogged a bit to reach Daren in the corridor of Deck Nine. She carried a PADD for him. Daren stopped to one side, letting a few other officers pass and addressed Forester. “Ah there you are.” He grinned. “What’s up?” “Just got this across the wire from the Flag.” She didn’t go into any details as to what the PADD contained as she handed it off to him and he began to read. “Needed to find you right away, Sir.” The communication was an expressed order from Rear Admiral Lora Kor for the ship to be subject to a full inspection by the Admiralty. The communication was short and to the point as was generally the Admirals style, it was also formal. Too formal. He scratched his chin with the PADD and stared off into space. “Captain?” Forester was still standing there. “Sir?” She finally had to give him a small nudge. “You alright?” Daren came out of the haze. “Yeah. I think so. Where did you say Lora Kor was?” She smiled. “I didn’t say, but I just came from Seventh Heaven, and he was there having a drink and reading a lot of PADDs.” Daren nodded. “Do me a favor, get to Sickbay tell Doctor Reed to have Sickbay prepared for a Flagstaff inspection. And find Commander Tal, have her contact me as soon as possible…” He stepped into the nearest turbolift. ---------- Musical Musings for this log: ‘Simple Man’ – Lynyrd Skynyrd ‘Good (For A Woman)’ – Alien Ant Farm Captain William Daren Commanding Officer (IC) USS Coronado NCC-97901 Sim Executive Officer http://www.jestertrek.com/coro2400/bodies/depts/command.html#co ******************* As portrayed by: Chris Catterson Long Island, NY ccatt@optonline.net |
