"The Golden Thread" - Savant above a world aglow in red cast in a deathly pall where living walk amidst the dead the king aside the thrall above their head a shining thread hung gleaming o'er them all. thus hallowed in that pallid hue affixed and held in somber air and all the things held to be true could take no succour there they'd not undo nor journey through the gateways furnished fair. such little thoughts! such little minds! such treasures opened bare! such cherished things hung from those lines atwixt, entwined, suspended there. but not one there could see the thread only its halo burned the sky five miles of earth banded around a crown of land for those on high so strangers strained and turned their head they found their feet pulled from the ground from golden chains that drifted by to join the firmament of light that held the earth aloof and stretch across that heavenly gate and spun around to left and right and wind the weave and woof engend'ring flight unto the night to break the chains of past and fate
