Captain Jarod Bentalll
Posted on Sunday, April 20, 2003 - 01:09 am:

"Well keep up the efforts Will. Once you get a new XO in place and get Coronado back in one stable piece you'll be back out there."

Captain Daren nodded on his view screen. "Thanks Jarod. Keep in touch. Coronado out."

Bentall closed the channel to Coronado and sat staring out the small window in his ready room. He had originally tried to contact Daren two days prior but as he contacted Coronado, Daren was watching his XO commit suicide. Daren had just had a chance to get back in touch with him.

Sighing he got to his feet and headed back out to the bridge. "Report."

"Nothing on sensors sir. We're proceeding on our predesignated patrol in the vicinity of Xanadu..." said his XO. "Once we caught up to her that is. She moved again."

Jarod nodded. "Captain Daren mentioned that while I was talking to him." He looked up as the next duty shift began to arrive. "Well I'm heading back to my questers to get some dinner. See you tomorrow exec." He turned and left the bridge without even seeing her nod with a small grin on her face.

Half an hour later they both sat in his quarters and enjoyed a quite dinner together. The whole crew knew of their relationship but no one seemed to mind. They had been through to much together. And it was a very small crew.

"So "Captain" when do you think we'll be able to get off this constant patrolling and into covert ops like we were originally intended?" asked Sarah.

Jarod grinned at her use of his rank. "I'm not sure "Commander" I am thinking once the admirality have a reason to use us in that capacity they will." he smiled at her.

Sarah smiled back and then asked another question. "Seriously though Jarod, we haven't been used in our official capacity for months now. I'm begining to think that Wallace has forgotten about us."

"Not forgotten I'm sure. I spoke with the old man just before I talked to Captain Daren. He assures me that Wallace has a lot on his plate at the moment." Jarod shrugged.

Sarah smiled again. "Enough work talk." She leaned over and kissed him.

"Computer, dim the lights."
