"Computer, unseal Security lockout, authorization Daren-gamma-seven-six..."

The doors came open, and the stale air from inside Commander J. Darek Smith's quarters hit his face. The quarters had been sealed since the moment the man's death had been pronounced. The loss had hit hard, especially being an eyewitness to a man's destruction of himself. When Daren had arranged for Smith's body to be returned to Coronado, he knew there would be one more step...to pack up the man's personal effects.

This was a task easy delegated to a lower level administravtive officer, but he wanted to take care of it himself. The man had been a close colleague, one that was apparently very hurt inside for quite sometime, and it was the least he could do for a fallen friend. Daren opened a Starfleet crate and began placing objects from the room inside, pictures...books...small ornamental weapons from the man's personal collection.

The man's body, along with the other crew members that had perished during their time in M64, was placed in storage. Daren thought of the ancient military creed from Earth, "Leave no man behind". It was no surprise that Captain William Daren had never for one moment considered M64 home, and he had silently vowed that he'd return every one of the Coronado's crew, those living and those departed, to their homes in the Milky Way. He would do it, or he would die trying.

As he packed the final few things into a second and third crate, he signaled for transport. "Daren to Cargo Bay, please arrange for the crates in Commander Smith's former quarters into storage as soon as possible."

"Aye Captain", came the response.

Daren turned and looked around the room. It looked clean and empty. He stepped into the corridor some time later, the room was ready to be occupied by the ships next second in command, but Daren still wasn't sure who that would be...
