=/\= HoloDeck =/\= Thomas had been turning the idea over in his mind ever since he had blurted out his comment in front of the senior brass. He ususally liked to remain in the background of things and provide input when asked but something had bothered him about the Phfor Vessel on the surface of Enigma. He needed time to work something out so had decided to use the holodeck to assist him. Taking some of the valuable lessons he had learned while acting as the helmsman for the Masada, he programmed a simulation in the holodeck and began experimenting. Not exactly sure where to begin, he started by making a number of simulated space folds jumping towards Enigma from various directions. He attempted over twenty folds outside of Enigma;s orbit and each one provoked the same reaction from the Traxati - clouds of needles were launched at the Pfhor vessel. Thomas studied the last attempt to fold closer to Enigma and watched the neutronium needles shred the Pfhor vessel again. He looked at the planet and at the needles as they continued slicing through the vessel. "Maybe the Pfhor should have just folded into orbit," he muttered. An idea came to him, and he decided to give it a try. He tapped on the console and watched as the Pfhor vessel folded into orbit of Enigma. Thomas felt the Pfhor vessel shudder as the fold opened and they popped out in direct orbit over the planet. Red lights immediately began blinking as the planet's gravity began to exercise itself on the vessel. At the same time, the Pfhor's vessel's forward momentum was moving the large vessel ever closer skimming the upper thermosphere. Thomas began fighting the controls of the Pfhor vessel attempting to keep from colliding with the planet. The computer began calling out their rate of descent and he realised that the Pfhor vessel was already lost. Thomas watched as the vessel impacted and then leaned back. The Traxati had not launched any neutronium needles. He was surprised at that but his biggest surprise was the fact that the Pfhor's vessel's fold drive had somehow caused a slight erratic shift in Enigma's gravity well. He reviewed the data and decided to hand submit his findings to the Brass. Wayne tapped on the computer, "Computer, send the results to General Ironside with this final comment. The Pfhor folded into Enigma's orbit. If they were even off by 3 kms they probably could not avert crashing into the planet. However, my other concern is the Pfhor Vessel's fold drives effecting the planet's gravity. Transmit." Thomas wondered if the gravity well could have had other undesirable results.
