Zunite finished feeding Paqui, and tried rocking him to sleep. After 15 minutes without luck, she took him over to the computer terminal and began composing her letter to her mom.

Dear Mom-

You'll be happy to hear that I am still alive. In another galaxy, but alive, but our family has been there before. Dejat died soon after entering this galaxy, dad is still alive though, and I guess we're getting along fairly well- all things considered.

The executive officer recently demoted me back down to Lt Commander - yes mom I made full Commander - for insubordination or something - you know how those things go. So I'm behaving myself, mostly; I keep getting this funny feeling that the XO doesn't like me, but I'm sure if I had followed your advice and given him a nice welcoming present all would have been good - till he saw my horns that is.

Recently I gained a surrogate son. It's actually the son of one of the crewmembers I really don't care much for - but that whole story is an extremely long one that I don't have time to give you, but in short he's the reason why I'm demoted. I'm sure we'll somehow manage to find a way home - or at least I will.. then we will have time for me to tell that huge story. But for right now I'm in charge of 4 month old, Paqui, who refuses to let me sleep and likes messing with computer systems. I suppose you reap what you sow, and I can just hear you thanking the Force for giving me a child as much as a terror as I was. You'll also be happy to note that I'm practicing my Jedi skills frequently, and with Paqui to keep out of telepathic trouble I will probably be practicing daily. Now I must go, get what sleep I can while I can get it. Take care and may the Force be with you.

Love,

Zunite

Zunite finished and submitted her letter and then put the now sleeping Paqui into his crib and went back to sleep herself.
