Lieutenant Major Shar
Posted on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 - 07:46 pm:

Corporal Nathan Jackson was an unassuming man who did his job to the best of his abilities at all times.

His job was as the lead repair technician for the Thunderbirds. He was proud of his job and his role in seeing that his "babies" as he liked to call them kept on flying and serving all that was good and right in the universe.

Since the arrival of the Squads new flight leader he had, had more difficulties and problems keeping the birds in the "air" then ever before and more recently one of them didn't come home even though it's pilot did.

Now he was looking over Thunderbird Lead which had just been tractored back into the repair bay after apparently ceasing to function during a standard patrol loop. He knew it would only be a matter of secon..... CRASH!! ..... d's before Shar was in the repair bay demanding answers.

Looking to his left he was not surprised to see Shar's helmet swirling around in a tight circle on the deck below the bulkhead it had crashed into where Shar had thrown it. Turning around he calmly waited for the angry tirade that was going to explode from Shar any second. "Can I help you Major?"

Shar just glared at him and began to sputter. "You.... You.... You...." He stopped as something caught his eye on the other side of the bay. Lieutenant Colonel Gregg just happened to be standing there looking at them. He didn't say a word as Shar worked through his anger without exploding. He didn't need to. "You told me it was flight worthy Corporal!"

Jackson offered him a sympathetic look and offered up an apology all the while wondering what had caused Shar not to explode angrily at him. He was not facing Colonel Gregg so he was unaware of Shar's feelings. "All of our simulations and tests showed that she was space worthy Major. I don't know what else to tell you sir."

Shar was now visibly calm though inside he was still full of anger. "Just fix it. And next time have someone take it out on a test flight. I won't be held responsible for my actions if this happens again Corporal. Is that clear?"

"Crystal Sir. I'll have a report for you in two hours. And again I'm sorry sir."

Shar looked over at Gregg again only to note he was no longer there, shaking his head he didn't respond and left.

Corporal Jackson just stood there for a moment, scratching his head and trying to figure out what had just happened. He'd heard stories about Shar's temper from his time on Renegade. Something obviously had changed. Shrugging he turned back to his job and thought nothing more off it.

Meanwhile Shar had gotten onto a turbolift and stood there fighting his emotions.

Ten minutes later Lieutenant Hanks called in a repair request for the damaged control panel in the same turbo lift.
