Ironside had frowned when the report came in that Lieutenant Colonel Wayne had fallen unconscious following the transit through the catapult ahead of Coronado. The incident triggered something in his mind, something both distant and near at the same, as Coronado entered the catapult rift. He didn’t have very long to think about it, though. The instant that U.S.S. Coronado passed through the catapult rift, Colonel Ironside’s mind exploded in a cacophony of images and sounds. The onslaught was so sudden and so intense that his mental discipline was all but cast aside while his eyes bolted open wide and his back spasmed. One of the technicians in the CIC let out a yelp as he noticed the Colonel arch his back hard, his head thrown back, before he crumpled to the deck. As Ironside slipped into unconsciousness under the blitz of mental images, his last thought focused around the oddest quote that seemed to be forcing itself upon his mind. The slithery voice of the Pfhor Grand Admiral seemed to echo inside his head: “What The Watcherssss can make, The Watcherssss can also unmake….” And then…nothing. |
