Craig Serrold

Craig Serrold lay on the deck in the aft section of the new bridge. The CIC had been transformed into a triage center for the Marine and the seriously wounded Commander Tlaloco. The doctor had determined that both were lucky to be alive and that neither should be moved more than necessary. Serrold, his wounds barely holding themselves closed after field dressing, was in no position to disagree. Tlaloco, with his makeshift replacement foot, was even less qualified to raise protest.

Doctor Thompson and his people had set up a pair of cots and bio-stat monitors in the CIC, currently unused as Coronado headed back to Pitstop for repairs and resupply. Serrold felt like a new man, lying on the cot covered with a soft sheet, his wounds repaired and his body scrubbed clean. He had rested and felt like seeing how well the doctor's ministrations were holding up.

A clean, pressed set of clothes and a pair of soft shoes sat next to his cot. He pulled on the pants and slipped gingerly into the shirt. Slipping his feet into the shoes, he cautiously stood up. Taking a few easy steps, Serrold wandered out into the main bridge area and looked around.

There was still blood on consoles and the decking where he and Tlaloco had struggled in from Deck 5. There hadn't been time yet to get someone in to clean up the mess. He imagined that Commander Oswald's engineering team would just have that much more to take care of once repairs began on the damaged areas of the ship. At least she's in one piece, he thought absently.
