As the turbolift came to a very unsettled rest, I stood back up.

"Jason you ok?" I said, "Is he ok?

Jason checks his patient, "he's ok for know, but we need to get him to sickbay right now!"

I start to get the doors open to see where we are. Were only 2 decks below the deck the sickbay is on.

"Were in good shape as long as I can get these outter doors open then we can get him up the 2 decks to the sickbay," I say to Jason as I'm working on the outter doors.

"We need to hurry or we'll lose him," Jason says as he gets the patient ready for transport.

As the outter doors come open the lift falls a few more inches. Not enough to matter, yet, but enough to make things move a little faster.
I get out and then both of us get the injured engineer out of the lift. Then the lift drops another foot!

"Jason you need to get out now!" I yelled out as I layed the ensign down on the floor.

Jason squeezes through the opening that is left between the deck floor and the ceiling of the lift. As his feet just come clear of the lift, it falls the rest of the way down the very dark hole. As it hits the bottom, we both pull back from the hole at the sound of the crash.

We both say at the same time, "gald we weren't on there any longer," then we look at each other.
We hear the ensign moan alittle and that brings us back from our second of life reflection.

"Were only 2 decks below sickbay," I say, "the ladders are right around the corner and I think we can make it up with the ensign.

"Yes so do I," says Jason.

We both head off to the ladders with the ensign and start heading up the 2 floors to sickbay.

We hit the last floo and take the ensign to sickbay and put him on a medbed. All the other beds are full with othercasulities from other parts of the ship.

"Jason I need to get to engineering to find out what's going on," I said

"Go," Jason says as he's working on the list of wounded, "becareful out there and good luck!"

I leave sickbay and head for engineering.
