Jason Thompson
Posted on Friday, March 22, 2002 - 05:37 am:

Thompson stood in Engineering with a mist of death in the air. Not really death. More like ionized gas from all the energy discharges from the consoles. But death would certainly be more poetic.

Since transporting the patients via a computer controlled device was impractical when the computer was infected by a virus, Thompson had assembled a motley crew and descended to Engineering. Engineering was secure, with Drexler's finest at all access points. Thompson's primary concern were the injured Engineers.

Commander Farley, the duty officer in Main Engineering during the attack, called for assistance:

"Jason, we got casualties over here. 3 dead and 2 severly wounded. It looks pretty bad."

Thompson ran over to the 2 remaining people and pulled his medical tricorder. Upon scanning the first patient, he realized that there was nothing he could do.

He turned to the other one and scanned him. This one could make. He set himself up, with an adrenaline-induced sense of confident.

"Set cardiac stimulators, 20cc's cordrazine, and a dermal regenerator up"

As the assisants applied the instruments, Thompson looked at his portable patient status panel. No heartbeat. But no neural degredation.

"25 Joules."

The patient joulted as the electric current passed through him. Still nothing

"50 Joules"

Same result

"75 Joules"
The last charge gave the injured Engineer a stable rhythum. With that, he was taken back to Sickbay, to be treated.

In the Turbolift, on the way to Sickbay, Thompson and Farley held the injured engineer.
"Do you want to meet for lunch at 12:30 today"
"Sounds good"

Suddenly, as they talked, they heard an explosion and the power in the Turbolift went out, as it began to plummet.

Thompson and Farley grabbed the Engineer and held onto the railing of the Turbolift. Suddently, it stopped with a thump. The power was not restored and it did not seem to be stable.
