Lt. Caring-Thoughts

Lieutenant Caring-Thoughts winded down his duty shift the same way he began it. On the bridge at the engineering console. He felt that it was the best place for him until he was used to his new cords. His thoughts continued to speed along at a very fast pace and at times he had trouble articulating his opinions and suggestions to the Command Staff. If that kept up the crew would most likely change his name to Hesitant Thoughts. Leaving his post he returned to his quarters where he consumed some nutrients and prepared for sleep. When sleeping braids would break apart into their individual cords. The cords would then find a comfortable place to sleep so that they would be rested for the following day's joining. One of these cords, the eighth one, was new to the Thoughts braid. Not only was it new to the Thoughts braid, it was new to the entire concept of being joined into a braid and as such was still a touch on the independent side. An individual cord was as intelligent as the most intelligent of Earth;s dog species. Thought's broke the braid and the cords went to their normal sleeping areas. After a few moments of rest Cord 8 ((or C8 from this point on)) rose to his feet and shuffled over to the door of Thought's quarters. The door would not open automatically due to the short nature of C8. C8 began bounding up and down in an effort to get the door to open. After a few bounces C8 stopped and looked around for something to jump from. Finding a low table, C8 jumped up on it and then made a running motion towards the door, bounding as high as it could C8 was rewarded for its efforts as the door slid open. Bouding through the door before it slid shut again, C8 paused and looked down the corridor in both directions. Spotting another crewmember and looking for some company C8 follwed the crewmember into a Turbo Lift. Ensign McCormack looked down as a dog shaped creature followed him into the lift. "Hey now.... What are you and why are you following me?" C8 simply looked up at McCormack and said nothing. McCormack looked long and hard at C8 before finally realizing what he was seeing. "Well now.... how did you go about getting out of Lieutenant Thought's quarters?" Not expecting an answer he leaned down to pick the cord up. C8 shied away from the Ensign as he leaned down and bolted for the doors the second they open. He bounded down the corridor, knocking a Marine over in his hurry. ** To Be Continued ** |
