Forever the leader... forever Coronado.

Tebrun Lora Kor Allow me to be the first to welcome you aboard U.S.S. Coronado, command and control ship for Defenders Task Group 85.3, "Whitestone." I am Vice Admiral Tebrun Lora Kor, commanding the Whitestone group. Coronado is the second ship of the Katana class frigates, and my flagship. This PADD allows you to read about the capabilities of the ship and her key officers, learn about the galaxy, and review the ship's declassified official log entries.

Coronado was, until April 2401, a member ship of Starfleet Intelligence tasked with a variety of missions from anti-terrorism to investigation of potential threats to the Federation. However, after the Federation-Klingon-Romulan War of 2401 broke out, Coro and the other ships of Task Group 5.4 were assigned a number of wartime missions which culminated in the capture of a Romulan destroyer, the S.R.R. Sienov Temarr. However, while transporting this ship to Starfleet R&D, Coronado and the rest of Task Group 5.4 were trapped in galaxy M64 by her Romulan hunters... more than nineteen million light-years from Federation space! There, we found a new danger: the Pfhor Hegemony. After a long and dangerous conflict with the Hegemony, Starfleet personnel and our allies in the M64 galaxy have the "Defenders" -- a combined fleet of all allied races -- to protect our space against the remnants of the Hegemony and the other dangers of this new galaxy.

To assist in this mission, Coronado mounts the experimental quantum slipstream propulsion technology, developed in a cooperation between Utopia Planitia and Antares Fleet Yards. In addition, the design of the Katana class also makes our starship an ideal platform for exploration and defense. We've also researched and developed several new technologies in the M64 Galaxy. More information about the ship's history, design, and technical specifications is available by tapping the Coronado button at the top of your PADD.

I am proud to say that Coronado also boasts one of the finest crews in Starfleet. The ship's officers come from a variety of backgrounds, offer a broad array of experience, and have proven themselves outstanding assets to this ship and to the Defenders. Their determination, intelligence, and courage are tested daily, and they are worthy of any challenge that Coronado may face. In addition, our Marine detachment is one tough bunch of hombres -- they have proven themselves in combat time and again. You can read about the ship's officers by selecting Depts; their Logs are also available for review.

There is a group of individuals that enjoy role-playing games, and in their spare time are involved in a "Sim" -- simulating Coronado's missions as if they were members of the ship's crew. This PADD is linked to their manual, schedule, and information about their activities.

Coronado operates in the year 2402 A.D., in a widely diverse galaxy, full of adventure. We also have our own histories to tell. By selecting Setting, you can read information on the history of Coronado since I have taken command or review the ship's mission, including more information about the crew's honors and the happenings "below decks." Also available is detailed information on the state of the galaxy and of the fleet, Starfleet's Prime Directive and General Orders, Federation news and bulletins of interest to officers and crew of Coronado, and other reference material.

You may find during your visit that you wish to join the crew of U.S.S. Coronado. If so, great! Though we are far from Federation space, there exists the opportunity for personnel to transfer from other ships or be commissioned from Coro's enlisted crew. You might even be a resident of M64 with an interest in exploring your home galaxy... just select Join and fill out an application!

Finally, this LCARS terminal is cross-linked with many other computer systems, both inside and out of the Federation. In particular, by selecting Links, you can visit some of these cross-linked systems. While you're there, please be sure and visit the UCIP Personnel Database, where you can review detailed records on Coro's crew. You also may not know that our vessel is named after an important military vessel of Earth's 20th century, but you can review the stored data files of that early predecssor, U.S.S. Coronado, AGF-11, the command and control ship of the United States Navy Third Fleet.

That's all for now. Please feel free to look around, and if you have any questions, you may contact me via subspace. Enjoy your visit to U.S.S. Coronado, "Forever the leader!"
