Both brother were around fighters and pilots all their lives and loved hearing the pilots stories. As they grew up they'd spend hours in the simulator that their mother user to train and mike decided to join starfleet and follow in his mothers footsteps. His father was less than enthusiastic about his choice while his mother loved the idea. Mikes father wanted both him and his brother to be teachers like he is. He said starfleet pilot was too dangerous. Once Richard graduated high school he enrolled in college to start studying like his father wanted. After about a month he knew this wasn't him so he asked his parents blessing to enroll in starfleet. His father came around saying he didn't want both his sons hating him. He went to the Starfleet Marine Corps recruiting office and signed up as a pilot.

Family:Parents: Thomas and Alane Gannsen; Sister: Jamie
Dominants:
Notes:Brandon has been a member of starfleet all of his life. Both his parents were members of the fleet. His dad Thomas Gannsen was a widely known Fleet Admiral. His mom was a Tactical Officer aboard the Cheyenne Class U.S.S. Ahwahnee; she was one of the few survivors of the crew when they were rescued after the Battle of Wolf 359 in 2366. Three years after that battle Brandon was born to his proud parents.

Brandon and his little sister Jamie had an odd childhood stationed aboard various ships with their mom. Their dad rearely had time to spend with them and their mom had other duties thus Brandon was left to take care of Jamie 13 years his junior. In 2386 at the age of 17 Brandon enrolled and was accepted into the academy. Brandon took his studies as a Medical Officer for 8 years; eraning not only his medical but also science and engineering degrees. Upon graduation in 2394 he was assigned a dirtside job on Earth. In 2399 he was shifted to Starbase Raven located over Trilista Colony. Later that year he was shipped out aboard his first real assignment at the age of 30. The age in which many officer contemplate retirement he found himself in his first real post aboard the USS Santa Fe in the Third Subfleet. On Stardate 240306.26 he was assigned as Chief Medical Officer abaord U.S.S. Repulse, a Nova X class vessel in the Third "Gamma" Subfleet.

It was on this ship that Gannsen served at the time when she was lost. He has no memory of the time from when she was lost until he found himself aboard the U.S.S. Coronado in early January of 2404. His assignment there was as an Assistant Engineer. Brandon had just about forgotten all of his engineer training and had to quickly relearn the part he would play. On the third day he was assigned to the power regulation control panel and told that would be his station from then on. A week after joinging he got his first taste of combat as an engineer when the taskforce in which Coronado is an integral part was attacked. Gannsen quickly sprang into action adjusting power and making repairs. It was during repairs that another of their number was lost in a plasma leak. Gannsen blamed himself but just as quickly sprang back into action. Thanks to the action of all the engineers the ship was saved. Gannsen lapsed back into medical training as he healed as many minor cutz and bruises as he could.

Past Officer

Name:
1st Lieutenant Edward Gerald Somansky, Jr.

Post:Flight Leader Alfa
U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-97901
Species:Human Male
Birthplace:Los Angeles, North America, Earth
Age:22

Physical Characteristics:
Height/Weight:177 centimeters / 80 kilograms
Hair/Eyes:Blonde / Brown
Description:Edward's build is bulky and muscular. As one of the strongest cadets in his training courses, Edward easily mastered hand-to-hand and close- range weapons combat. His extremely high threshold for pain allows him to perform easily and without to much interference in planet-side flying. As is necessary with all Marine Corps pilots his vision is very acute. With strong facial features and a eternal wide-eyed scowl, Edward has the classic intimidating marine look.

Personality Characteristics:
Marital Status:Single
Family:Father: Ralph Somansky; Mother: Ariana Somansky
Dominants:Respectful, shy, charismatic, patient
Notes:Edward grew in a household which demanded the utmost respect towards elders. With his father being a highly successful and high-profile intergalactic businessman, it was often that other important business people and Federation dignitaries were the guests of the Somansky household. The proper manners and respect were expected not only in their presence, but in the presence of family as well. Its a trait that bodes well for his future in the Marine Corps. Respect of rank and superiority comes naturally to him.

His on duty and off duty behavior completely differ from each other. On duty, Edward is the rigid, respectful marine who knows his place. Off duty, he's a charming individual with a kind of "rough-around-the-edges" charisma the fits perfectly with the mid-western accent that has been seemingly passed down through the Somansky bloodline.

Edward is also very shy. Due to years of rigid household rules and respect, he's not learned to be socially assertive. His upbringing is also the cause of several other problems. As a child, he was generally looked down upon as an extra. He was born fairly late in the childbearing years of his mother. Ralph and Ariana had planned on having no children, as to not interfere with their busy corporate schedule. As inadvertant as it may have been, Edwards parents made it seem to him as if he was a burden. This lack of affection and inherent underapprication by his parents has had an effect on Edward's personality. Anxiety and depression are not overly common occurances, but they can affect his demeanor and work from time to time.

Patience may be his greatest virtue, if not for all the wrong reasons, however. Refering back to him not being socially assertive, it was not uncommon for him spend hours upon hours waiting to ask his father or mother a simple question while they visited with a guest. When he got impatient and asked in the middle of the get-togethers, he was punished, and therefore learned how to be more patient. His upbringing may have caused him mental damage, but ironically it was good preparation for the Marine Corps.

Interests:Edward's major interest is flying. Growing up in the shadow of his father's industrial spaceport in Los Angeles, he'd watch the freighters and haulers take off and land from the hillside whenever he wanted to be alone. To him, flying meant freedom, it was his opportunity to be himself and out of the shadow of his parents. It was a easy decision for him to choose a course workload that earned him a spot as a pilot. Unable to fly the specteres while on his internship, he would spend hours of time in the flight simulator. In the time since he entered the academy, and been on his internship Edward has logged over a thousand hours of simulator time. When not flying he enjoys to study, in order to learn more ways to be useful as a marine.

Personal History:
Profile:Edward was born to Ralph and Ariana Somansky. Ralph was is the second-generation owner of the Somansky Trading and Manufacturing Company, started by his father. Edward was named after his uncle, Lieutenant Commander Edward Somansky (Ret.). As a newborn, Edward jr. resembled the spitting image of Edward Sr. Therefore; the name came along with the look.

Growing up in an affluent neighborhood in Los Angeles, Edward was well off as a child growing up. He spent a lot of time with family, having 4 aunts and 3 uncles as well as a wealth of cousins. Outside of the family connections, he had a very close network of friends that remained so throughout. All of who earned an appointment to Starfleet Academy.

Edward took a different path than his friends, however. Instead of taking the Navy workload of classes, he decided to take the proper steps to join the Marine Corps. After two years of intense studying and taking continuous overloads of classes. Edward earned an internship to the Marine Corps battalion onboard the U.S.S. Coronado. His specialty was as a light to heavy fighter pilot. His reward for his high marks at the academy was to join a battalion equipped with the Spectre-class fighters, the most advanced fighters in the galaxy.

Edward was still on board the U.S.S. Coronado when they and the accompanying task force were sent through the Hayashi hypergate to the M64 galaxy in 2401. He, along with the rest of the members of task force 5.4, were presumed missing by Starfleet Command. Still among the ranks of cadets at the time, Edward finished out his internship in 2403 and was finally moved to active duty as a flight leader on board the U.S.S. Coronado.

Interests:Virology, ship building, 20th century classical music, bear-smacking and primitive survival.

Personal History:
Background:(The following is from a letter written to Captain Lora Kor when Tlaloco boarded.)

I'll tell you everything you need to know about my life, but not so that you may judge me guilty or innocent.

My birth and early life: My father was a research assistant at the Temporal Institute. He did not believe in the Temporal Prime Directive. As a result, he was able to romance my mother, Mezcal Blossom, and I was born on stardate 153108.13, while my father faced censure at back in the 24th century.

I was raised by my mother and her husband, Five Ollin, who was a good man and respected the old ways despite the death threats of the authorities. The Spaniards burned him alive and forced us to watch. I was seven years old. When I was twelve, I lost my mother and three brothers to smallpox. I was dying too. One night, I closed my eyes, and awoke in the twenty-fourth century. My biological dad had rescued me, and cured me of the smallpox. I still carry the scars, as you can see.

The gods had intended for me to be in the Spirit Land with my real family. My so-called father denied me this opportunity. I have never forgiven him. His rescuing me cost him his job. He was demoted to Dean of Admissions at the Temporal Institute, where he made enemies with a brilliant but unstable young student who was denied admission. The student swore to pursue my dad and the next three generations through the past, present and future. I will never know how many tragedies of my life have been caused by "The Other".

I was bright, I suppose, so I was accepted into Starfleet Medical at the age of sixteen. I developed a replicator technology which allowed for the replication of human bodies whose hearts could function for up to five minutes. With this technology, I was able to practice my religion. Starfleet banned my research, but I continued. Right before I graduated, I was caught and suspended for three years. I wanted to someday command a starship, so I re-applied, while finishing my medical degree in a civilian institute. After my suspension, I studied Engineering. I specialized in ship-building research. I was set to graduate with honors, but The Other appeared. His bumbling caused a shift in the timeline and two Tlalocos were created. By our faith, we couldn't share a single life. This would be an abomination in the eyes of the gods. So, we decided that one of us should die. I performed the ritual on my other self. Starfleet charged me with murder, and the JAG suspended me for life from the Academy and Starfleet service.

At the academy, I had befriended Gar, a Ferengi who had applied to the academy to get the free education in shipbuilding. Right before graduation, he beamed himself off during a senior cadet training mission, and refused to honor his commission to starfleet. He fled back to Farenginar to work at his father's shipbuilding facilites near Ferenginar. Since I had been suspended, he hired me as the Chief of Operations.

One day, in a high stakes gambling festival, Gar ran out of money and wagered his sister. HE lost. I was apalled and paid so that she would not have to be handed over. We fell in love and were married, despite my inadequate lobes.

Once, when I was dealing with a client, I discovered that they were carrying as part of their cargo a 6-year-old Rhiassu girl. I bought her and Vanni and I adopted her as our own. I lived happily for four years, and forgot my dream of commanding a starship.

On the world now known as Tlaloceopatlán, I am a hero. We were built a ship with a formidable disruptor array -- our clients said it was for destroying meteors and comets. They'd make their living saving worlds from destruction, they said. They took delivery, and then they kidnapped my wife, and daughter. They knew I had the shield codes, and could stop them. They circled the planet, formerly known as Frank's Planet, but now bears my name, and demanded a huge ransom from the drug lords who ran the world, or they would destroy the planet. Our disruptor array was powerful. They could do it. I pursued them in our bird-of-prey clone. They let my wife and my daughter send me a message. I ignored it. I could see they were powering up their disruptors, and that they were going to destroy that world even though the ransom had been delivered. I deactivated their shields, and gave the order to fire. I tried to beam Vanni and Blui out, but we failed.

I couldn't go back to the shipyards. My dad, who has some pull in UCIP, wrote to Vice Admiral Thomas Magdiarz and swung me a position on theEnterprise. First, I had to finish the last six months of my training. UCIP noted my sacrifice and allowed me to finish my training and re-enstated me as an Ensign. I was made transporter chief aboard the Enterprise.

I guess the counsellors say I am a relentless pursuer of women. Is this a bad thing? I love my wife and always will, but I find I need female companionship. That's the why of Ensign Pavlova. But Pavlova was on the bridge of the enterprise when it was destroyed. twenty-four crewmen lost their lives, including the beautiful young ensign. Doc Stallion appointed me chief coroner, and I arranged the funerals. I'd become something of anexpert.

Meanwhile, back on Tlaloceopatlan, a revolution had broken out. Many former drug dealers were discovering the spirituality of my people, and, inspired by the near-destruction of their planet, they founded a neo-Aztec movement, which swept across the entire planet.

Pavlova's friend, Ensign Raial tried to console me. We ended up as lovers. Our relationship was stormy. Turns out, she was using my position as transporter chief to support the Klingon insurrection that was going on at the time, and which finally involved the entire UCIP. Despite the distractions of this relationship, I rose in rank and became CEO, and invented the first EEH, although mine was a voluptuous, stormy woman with raven hair and a bad attitude.

I followed Raial bnack to her home planet of Bajor, where I discovered the truth, but she was killed by her Klingon conspirators. I killed the Klingons during questioning, and was severely reprimanded. I also discovered that Raial had used the transporter to impregnate herself, and that she hadn't chosen me as the father. The son of her relationship is still on Bajor under the tutelage of her father, a Vedik.

The EEH wasn't the only innovation I brought to the Enterprise. I introduced music and plants to engineering, and the captain was not amused. I refused to turn off the music during a battle, and was suspended from duty. The heated exchange between me and Commander Tenna, our First Officer, flamed some fires of passion.

I was transferred to OPS, a position my old mentor Wallace had recommended to me. In a tense situation, I disobeyed Tenna's orders and beamed her out of danger, thereby saving her life. I was in the brig once again.

After this, Chill and I managed to stage my death in order to stop The Other from persecuting me. We drew him out of hiding and destroyed him, and I stayed under cover for a month.

The Drug Lords on Tlaloceopatlan, meanwhile, were losing power. They infiltrated the Enterprise and managed to inject me with a highly addictive variety of their local product, in hopes of discrediting me and the neo-Aztec movement. Dr. Chill managed to control my addiciton, but I still sometimes experience relapses.

Then Tenna disappeared. I was devastated. The XO position was open, but I was passed up for promotion, although I outranked Dr. Chill. My record was just too spotty. Apparenly, I was unfit for command.

I finally found a healthy relationship with Meredith Steen, the Science Officer. She helped me recover from my addiction and somehow released an empathic power that allows me to communicate with her alone. I was then promoted to CMO when Doc Chill got the XO seat.

On one mission, the Enterprise capture a Jem'Haddar soldier who demanded death, according to his religious convictions. He convinced me that his salvation depended on my killing him, and so I did. A hearing was convened.

In the meantime, Captain Gutsman suffered a viral attack, and I was able to stop the virus from spreading to other crew members, but I was unable to save the Captain. He lapsed into a coma. Chill became Captain. Once again, I was by-passed as XO in favor of a lower ranking officer, because of the disciplinary hearing being held against me.

Finally, I heard the decision of the JAG. UCIP's tolerance of my actions had worn thin. The Hero of Tlaloceopatlan, was demoted to Chief Petty Officer, and re-assigned to the Coronado as Chaplain and Chief of the Boat. As I submit this to you, Skipper, I am hoping that Meredith will come with me to the Coronado.

I am a good officer, sir. I still have my drug relapses, and I am still wanted by the drug lords of Tlaloceopatlan. But I have my gods, my woman, my Neruda poetry, and my strange replicator. I hope you can welcome me aboard.

In Rain and War,
Chief Olmeoaxaca W. Tlaloco,
Chaplain, Chief of the Boat.

Species:Andorian Male
Birthplace:Thonolan IV (Andorian Colony)
Age:37 (Standard)

Physical Characteristics:
Height/Weight:200 centimeters / 70 kilograms
Hair/Eyes:White / Brown
Description:Shar is a tall individual who despite his slender build is exceptionally strong. Normally considered handsome by the Andorian race he has been shunned much of his adult life by his own people due to his missing of one of his antenna. He has a long scar running up the left side of his face and stopping where the stub of his missing antenna is.
Notes:One of the first alien races that humans came into contact with, Andorians are humanoids from a world nearly frozen in continuous ice ages. As a result, Andorians have excellent resistance to cold and are much stronger than the human norm. Their hair is almost always white, and their skin carries a blue pigmentation, both camouflage measures evolved in the cold winds of their home planet. Andorians normally have two antennae at the top of their heads; these are sensory organs giving Andorians much better hearing than virtually any other humanoid species, including the ability to hear both higher and lower frequencies than the human norm, and even a rudimentary sonar capability in complete darkness. Like their hair color and pigmentation, this was an evolved trait, quite useful in the frequent blinding snowstorms of Andor. They also developed eyesight that is almost impossible to blind in bright light. However, as a result, Andorian vision requires a great deal of light; they see rather poorly in low-light conditions.

Personality Characteristics:
Marital Status:Single
Family:No information has been provided.
Dominants:Friendly, efficient, and aggressive
Notes:Shar has not acknowledged the existence of his family since his arrival in Starfleet. It is assumed that since the loss of his antenna he has been shunned and disowned by his family. Apparently he has not taken any emotional damage form losing his family or antenna and has made those he serves with his new family. He adjusts well to new situations. Typically aggressive like his race, he has proven himself in battle numerous times both as a fighter pilot and as a member of numerous ground actions. However his aggressive nature has made him a slight hothead and has limited his climb up the chain of command. His comrades find him a great friend and trust him with their lives. He in turn has learned to tolerate their strange sense of humour without retaliating physically as he once did.
Interests:Shar can often be found in the holodeck recreating many of the Milky Way (and recently the M64) galaxy's greatest battles, his favourite being those of the ancient Earth battles during World War II.

Starfleet Experience:
Stardate 236512.23:Born on Thonolan IV (Andorian Colony).
Stardate 238205.23:Is involved in a skirmish with other youths. Looses an antenna and his banished from the colony and his family.
