| Name: |
Commander Alec Reed |

  |
 |
| Post: | Former Chief Medical Officer U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-97901 |
| Species: | Human Male |
| Birthplace: | New York City, North America, Earth |
| Age: | 43 |
|
| Physical Characteristics: |
| Height/Weight: | 188 centimeters / 102 kilograms |
| Hair/Eyes: | Brown / Blue |
| Description: | Possessing the build and form of a young and strong athlete, Reed's physical form defies the expected mold of physicians. He is both stout and nimble, a decidedly unusual combination. Long-faced and square-jawed, Reed has a rather chiseled appearance that often renders him quite confident and collected. |
| Notes: | In order to maintain peak physical performance, Reed frequently exercises, ranging from weight-lifting to intensive running. |
|
| Personality Characteristics: |
| Marital Status: | Divorced |
| Family: | Father: Charles Reed; Mother: Megan Reed (Deceased); Ex-wife: Angie Post; Brother-in-Law: Benjamin Post (Deceased) |
| Dominants: | Dedicated, abrasive, cynical, talented, philanthropic |
| Notes: | Reed's entire medical career with Starfleet has been marked by a passion that is entirely encouraging to his patients. He is extremely devoted to the medical practice and seeks to ensure the health of everyone that comes under his care. He has a courteous, somewhat jovial bedside manner that puts most patients at ease.
When not dealing with patients - or when dealing with patients that he has grown rather frustrated with - Reed is fairly abrasive. He is cynical and fairly intolerant of the eccentricities of others. During an initial encounter, he will be professional, but as soon as any hint of informality exists, he will immediately begin verbally sparring. The reactions of the other person to Reed's sparring will essentially dictate where they stand with him from that point on.
Reed is often defiant of authority when he feels he is right. This is especially true in medicine, where he often does have the final say, but he has been known to butt heads with superiors on non-medical issues as well. He is unafraid to voice his opinion and almost never sits quietly by while a course of action is carried out that he has deemed to be incorrect or foolhardy. Reed's objections are almost always at least partially justified and, when dealing with senior officers, he (almost) never crosses the line into insubordination.
Much of Reed's defiant and coarse attitude developed following a difficult divorce to his wife. As a result, Reed is often in a slightly brooding, dejected mood, though he hides it behind a façade of sarcasm. He has difficulty forming bonds with others, largely as a result of actively trying to maintain a distance. On rare occasions, however, loneliness causes Reed to reach out to those around him. |
| Interests: | Dramatic performance, boxing, weight lifting, jogging, hiking. |

| Personal History: |
| Biography: | Charles and Megan Reed were both practicing physicians when Alec Reed was born. An only child, Reed was given special attention by his mother, who retired from medicine to raise him at home. Surrounded in an encouraging environment that promoted an awareness of the body and a concern for the welfare of all living things, it was no surprise when Reed decided he would also go into medicine. Unlike his parents, though, Reed had an insatiable desire to practice medicine in a more exotic environment. As a natural outcome of this, Reed enrolled in Starfleet Academy's class of '81.
Reed's Starfleet Academy experience was fairly mundane. He went through the usual trials and tribulations that all Academy cadets endure and graduated in the top twenty percent of his class - a number that would have been significantly higher if not for Reed's extreme stubbornness and refusal to yield when he believed he was right. This obstinate nature led to several conflicts with professors. Nevertheless, he was easily accepted to Starfleet Medical School, class of '85. In Medical School, Reed flourished, both academically and socially. It was here that he met his future wife Angie Post, and the two were married during their time at the Medical School. Reed also developed a close friendship with Angie's brother Benjamin. Reed went on to continue a marked streak of academic excellence in the medical field and graduated 3rd in his class.
Reed and his wife were separated on Reed's first assignment when he was assigned to the Olympic-class U.S.S. Liberty for his internship. A year later, he had easily proven his meddle and was promoted to Lieutenant, Junior Grade and recognized as a junior physician. Reed went on to spend a total of nearly three years aboard Liberty until requesting a transfer to Starfleet Medical in San Francisco on Earth. Though he was granted this rather prestigious position, the reason for his request was not to further his horizons, but instead to try and save his dying mother. Megan Reed was suffering from a terminal case of Cartallian fever. She died a month after his transfer to Starfleet Medical.
Her death began the destruction of Reed's personal life. First, his relationship with his father degraded simply because they both felt too much pain and loss when together. As this degraded, so did his marriage. Though it took several years, Reed and Angie eventually divorced in 2395. A mere few days after the divorce, Angie's brother Benjamin checked into the hospital. He was suffering from progressive somatophysical failure. He immediately began the only known treatment - Codrazine. He seemed to steadily improve before he abruptly died. This proved to be too much for Reed and he requested transfer out of the San Francisco hospital and back to starship duty. Less than two months later, he arrived aboard U.S.S. Swiftsure as Chief Medical Officer.
Reed immediately began to butt heads with Swiftsure's CO, Commander Chapel. He took every opportunity to antagonize her. She eventually deemed he had crossed the line when he refused to budge on what he considered a medical issue and what she considered a command decision - Swiftsure had an opportunity to help cure a planetary outbreak of a sweeping epidemic plague on a non-Federation world. Ultimately, Reed went over Chapel's head and beamed down with some of his medical staff to distribute vaccines. His covert rescue would have worked, had Chapel not discovered him returning. He was relieved of duty for six days, but Commander Chapel never filed court martial charges - at heart, she agreed with his decision. The rest of Reed's time aboard Swiftsure was fairly straightforward, as far as the career of a Chief Medical Officer is concerned.
When Swiftsure and the rest of Task Group 5.4 found itself in M64, Reed was along for the ride. He took the shift in stride, not really having any ties he cared to take up in the Milky Way. He found life in M64 to be well suited to his needs and he served aboard Swiftsure throughout the war with the Pfhor Hegemony. At the conclusion of the war, Reed transferred to U.S.S. Coronado, where he currently serves as Chief Medical Officer. |

Commander Kariasa Ma'Aru |

    |
 |
| Post: | S-2, Group Intelligence Officer Defenders Task Group 85.3, "Whitestone" |
| Species: | Human Female |
| Birthplace: | Port Moresby, New Guinea, Earth |
| Age: | 26 (Standard) |
|
| Physical Characteristics: |
| Height/Weight: | 159 centimeters / 56 kilograms |
| Hair/Eyes: | Dark Brown / Green |
| Description: | Simple is the best word to describe Kari's outward appearance. With a moderate hairstyle, normal height, and only slightly smaller than average stature she seems to blend easily into a crowd. Her most interesting feature is, by far, her dark green eyes, which seem to be able deliver a highly penetrating stare when desired. |
| Notes: | It should be noted that Kari has exceptionally high hand-eye coordination. This has led to a highly increased ability to use numerous types of touch-based interfaces as well as a number of different beam and thrown weapons. In training situations, however, she has proven to freeze when engaged in close range or hand-to-hand combat and should not be relied on to act in these circumstances. |
|
| Personality Characteristics: |
| Marital Status: | Single |
| Dominants: | Intelligent, quiet, timorous |
| Notes: | Kari can best be described as a quiet person who on most occasions will keep to herself. There are excepts to this, however they mostly occur while she is under the influence of synthehol. It should also be noted that Kari as a very calm person. There are no recorded cases of her publicly losing her temper and only a few cases where she becomes visibly upset. |
| Interests: | Kari's interests currently consist of darts and VirIM, a modification of the Vulcan game Vim'Geman. She is also looking into taking a number of training programs on the holodeck published by Starfleet Academy. |
|
| Personal History: |
| Early Life: | Kariasa Ma'aru was born on Earth in the city of Port Moresby, located on the island of New Guinea. She was the fourth of five children too Jackson and Courtney Ma'aru, a mid level diplomatic official and a museum creator, respectively. With two busy parents and a large number of siblings Kari, as she liked to be called, never received an exorbitant amount of attention as a child. She didn't seem to mind, however, and if there was anything peculiar about her behavior no one seemed to notice, in fact she was often described as mature and well-behaved throughout her childhood.
At the age of four Kari's father received a significant promotion and the entire family moved to Bern, Switzerland and soon after she started her schooling. There was nothing very remarkable about the first parts of her education. She was immediately marked as one of the brighter students in her classes and while she was definitely not the most popular of children she had a small group of loyal friends.
Earlier in her adolescence, the exact date is unknown, Kari acquired a copy of Vulcan strategy game Vir'Geman, a child's learning tool that closely resembles the 20th century Earth game RISK; it is played with with a number of small stones and 7 sets of dice on a .7m x 1.2m board. Initially, she played with her friends and siblings but after time they lost interest and she started playing with the computer. She was fascinated by the game and spent a large portion of her time thinking about it. After its initial appeal started to fade she began modifying the rules of the game to be more interesting. Over the next eight years Kari would change nearly every aspect of the game, adding things like supply lines, unit fatigue, location specific effects, and a complete reworking of the combat system that factors in 17 different statistics for each unit. The current version, VirIM 9.45.5b, is available on the Starfleet Academy Computer Network in Kari's public directory.
As time went on and school work shifted towards students competing for placement in more advanced institutions Kari didn't seem to notice. She didn't put much effort into her education and got by with merely average marks. In the beginning of the senior year of her education she was approached by one of the schools counselors who tried to encourage her to work harder. After the counselor talked with her parents Kari finally started to do well in school, though she claims she only tried harder to get her parents to leave her alone. Her grades quickly improved but by the end of that year they weren't high enough to get her admitted to any schools she found interesting. Then, in a rather uncharacteristic move, her father pulled in a large number of favors and got Kari admitted to Starfleet Academy for one year on probationary status.
|
| At Starfleet Academy: | Encouraged by the new environment and the chance to start anew, Kari excelled quickly at SFA. She particularly enjoyed the focus on military teachings and even found a group of people who were interested in her version of Vir'Geman.
It is during this time that Kari developed her love of darts. She picked up the game in one of the less popular bars surrounding Starfleet Academy and soon after she found an antique board in the attic of her house during a vacation. She has since spent a large amount of time playing this game and currently holds an amateur status, something she is particularly proud about.
Halfway through her second year at SFA Kari was approached by Starfleet Intelligence and after an extensive array of tests she was admitted to their program, though she didn't have any idea what was to come. Kari was initially selected to go into the operations division of SFI and she quickly adapted to the cloak and dagger lifestyle. However, after a training incident she was switched to the analysis division where she finished the rest of her training with the intelligence section of Starfleet Academy.
At this point the Federation/Romulan/Klingon was in full swing, therefore a number of the required elective credits were lifted for the students in the intelligence section as it was felt that their training was desperately needed in the field. As such, Kari doesn't have the training in Engineering, Science, or Medical that a normal SFA graduate would have. Though at present she is looking into taking those courses through the holodeck in an attempt to round out her skills.
|
| In Starfleet: | After graduation she was assigned to the U.S.S. Lentara as an Assistant Intelligence Officer under the department head Cmdr. Jacob Lawrence. That assignment ended quickly after the Lentara was destroyed outside of the Calder system merely a month after she arrived. Kari was among a number of survivors who made it to Starbase 12 and she was soon after ordered to a Starbase 621 to take a position in a lab located there.
In transit, however, she was told to report to M.R.F. Pearl for a different assignment. Not until the U.S.S. Coronado was pulling up to the facility did she get word that she had been assigned as the Intelligence Officer to one of the most advanced ships in Starfleet.
The position was temporary, the message said, the Coronado was in need of someone who knew how to use the features of the intelligence module onboard and Kari was to fill that position until a senior officer could be brought in to take that position. Unfortunately, while on her first mission the Coronado went through a Traxati Hypergate and ended up stuck in the Galaxy known as M64. To Kari it seemed that her time aboard this ship had been extended. |

 |
 |
| Post: | Squadron Leader, SO-2 "The Raptors" U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-97901 |
| Species: | Human Male |
| Birthplace: | The Alamo Outpost, Tagra IV, Argolis Cluster |
| Age: | 25 |
|
| Physical Characteristics: |
| Height/Weight: | 193 centimeters / 105 kilograms |
| Hair/Eyes: | Sandy Brown / Light Blue |
| Description: | Thomas Wayne is a taller than the average human male. However, with his build, he is far from tall and lanky. His body is muscular and his reflexes are extremely fast. His eyesight is judged to be superb and participates in sniping competitions. Having served in the local civilian militia, he spends his down time honing his martial arts and boxing skills. Even though most people see the athletic form, Thomas has an above average IQ and is fond of reading. |
|
| Personality Characteristics: |
| Marital Status: | Single |
| Family: | Father - Robert Wayne Jr (Scientist); Mother - Lauren Wayne (Scientist); Brother - Peter Wayne (Deceased); Sister - Janice Wayne (Civilian Militia). |
| Dominants: | Loyal, loner, analytical |
| Notes: | Thomas Wayne is a quiet young man who keeps to himself. He hides a turbulent life that is a result from being born on an outpost where death takes many shapes or forms. He enjoys flying and has even built his own air cycle from spare parts. He has trouble making friends or building relations but has shown himself to be both loyal and dedicated to those he calls friends. Thomas also hides a deep anger resulting from the death of his brother that he maintains a tenuous control. This deep rooted anger has only surfaced in a few cases of extreme stress. He spends alot of his free time reading, working out in holoprograms and tinkering with equipment. Thomas would rather spend his free time flying a fighter rather than attending social functions.
|
|
| Personal History: |
| Family History: | Thomas Wayne was the youngest of three children born to scientist parents. The family has always lived on Tagra IV where the parents are involved in trying to revive the ecologically devastated planet. The remote outpost on the planet consists of approximately 23,700 scientists, miners and families who depend on outside supplies to survive on the planet. An accidental discovery of keltrinium on the planet allows the colony to work closely with Star Fleet thus ensuring monthly freighter runs. The colony depends on both Star Fleet and a local civilian militia to maintain law and order as well as defend the colony from mostly pirate raids.
Thomas Wayne and his siblings all enlisted in the civilian militia as soon as they reached the tender age of 16 years. They gain quite a bit of combat experience serving in the civilian militia especially during times that Star Fleet could not send ships to protect the colony. It was during one of the many wars being fought by Star Fleet, that the Alamo Outpost suffered it gravest danger - a rogue pirate fleet attempted an invasion of the colony. During the invasion, Peter Wayne was wounded and inadvertently left behind by a panicky militia Captain who ordered a retreat. Thomas Wayne attempted to assist his brother but was restrained. After the invasion was foiled, Peter Wayne's body was discovered tortured and executed by the mercenary Pirates. In a fit of blinding rage, Thomas attacked and almost kills the Militia Captain and is later found guilty by a Militia Judge. Feeling that extenuating circumstances were involved, the judge offers Thomas Wayne a way to avoid prison by giving him the option of joining Star Fleet. He accepts the offer and on his 20th Birthday, Thomas Wayne enlists in the Star Fleet Marine Corps. |

    |
 |
| Post: | Chief Science Officer U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-97901 |
| Species: | Human Male |
| Birthplace: | OIR Territory, Earth |
| Age: | 22 |
|
| Physical Characteristics: |
| Height/Weight: | 189 centimeters / 82 kilograms |
| Hair/Eyes: | Brown / Blue |
|
| Personality Characteristics: |
| Marital Status: | Married; Husband: Lt. Lauren Dyson, U.S.S. Coronado |
| Family: | Mother: Hisama Dyson (MIA); Father: Capt. Jihansau Jerrard (KIA at Wolf 359) |
| Dominants: | Professional, methodical, chaotic |
| Notes: | Isamu is fairly empathic and shows some signs of telekenetic control as well. Medical History: when he came in to Starfleet, he was a little rugged but well kept. He hardly got into fights but was completly untamed and wild. It was suggested that he even go to Vulcan to tame his emotions, but it wasn't until his counselor came in that he had finally succeeded.
Counselor's notes: he's a strict gentlemen, but when push comes to shove he doesnt hesitate. Openly respects his peers as well as his commanding officer. I note there's something more then what he appears. They had to bring in someone non-Betazoid just to get an accurate conversation. After refusing further discussion on the topic, we finally tested his mental stress level to find that he handles stress a lot better than some would think. On that note, Isamu is cleared for duty. |
| Interests: | For Isamu, work is pleasure... but don't take that idealsm literally. As long as he gets to blow something up, it's all good. :) |
|
| Personal History: |
| Profile: | Isamu was born in the indian reservation on New Eden where instead of being in heavy schooling like the rest of the children, Isamu found a life outside of society. When his own father helped him build a electric bike with the highway system largley still intact, Isamu found he had the entire west coast to explore. Eventually, he wound up in Starfleet because of it. With a degree of ingenuity and empathic ability, he found he had a talent for science ...and beyond his time he became a noted Astrophyscist. He was eventually assigned to U.S.S. Enterprise for his first tour as a fighter pilot, showing intelligence and prowess behind the controls. Isamu recently discovered psi abilities ...it is possible that this may be a selective memory issue. As of yet, Starfleet has no idea if it poses a problem. What is known from Starfleet records is he was picked up by a merchant ship from Vulcan. After his training was finished and then dissapeared on earth not more then 2 years ago where he re-emerged a member of Starfleet. Lauren And Isamu are joined in the bonds of holy matrimony and are now Lauren and Isamu Dyson. Yay! |
